Glastonbury is possibly the most famous festival on the planet… so it’s only fitting that the UK and Europe’s most connected music college has a presence there too, don’t you think?

The festival was first held on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, in 1970, and is run by festival organiser and land owner, Michael Eavis, and his daughter Emily. In the 45 years since its launch, the festival has made headlines around the world, with awesome Pyramid Stage performances by acts such as T-Rex, David Bowie, The Smiths, The Cure, The Levellers, Oasis, Radiohead, Primal Scream, Arctic Monkeys, Blur, U2, Coldplay, Beyoncé, The Rolling Stones, Metallica and Kasabian. But as anyone who has been will know, those huge acts barely even scratch the surface of what Glastonbury is really all about. There are around 100 stages and performance spaces across the festival which host over 2,200 gigs, theatre performances, speaking events, poetry readings and more.

This year, over 175,000 people will make the pilgrimage to Glastonbury, and if they visit the Croissant Neuf Bandstand in the Green Fields area of the festival, they’ll see a selection of BIMM artists performing to thousands of punters, while our Music Production students work hard behind the scenes to run the stage.
