About BIMM

The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) has colleges in six cities where music matters most – London, Berlin, Dublin, Manchester, Bristol and Brighton – and is proud to be the largest and leading provider of contemporary music education in Europe.

Our six BIMM colleges have over 50 years’ experience between them in helping students launch successful careers in the music industry. We offer a broad range of Higher and Further Education music courses – including BA Honours Degrees, nationally accredited Diplomas, Postgraduate Teaching Certificates and options for full-time and part-time study. Our professional highly practical courses include studies in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Songwriting, Music Production, Live Sound & Tour Management, Music Business, Event Management and Music Journalism.

At BIMM, we believe that the key to making it in the music industry is ‘connectivity’… so we offer our over 4,500 students direct access to a range of amazing collaborative experiences while they study, to ensure they’re 100% ‘industry-ready’ when they graduate. Opportunities like Masterclasses hosted by internationally renowned guest artists, end-of-term gigs, A&R panels, the annual BIMM album, and ongoing engagement with the industry, such as work placements and internships. And this is where BIMM’s Festival Programme really comes into its own!

BIMM’s Festival Programme

Each year, we connect our students to some of the UK’s best festivals via a very unique partnership initiative. We choose to collaborate with a selection of festivals by offering them the services of our students in the setting up and running of their events. In return, our students benefit from getting first-hand real-world work experience that many music fans can only dream of.

Whether they’re performing, stage managing, marketing, sound engineering, stewarding, promoting or reviewing, this will be a summer festival season our BIMM students never forget!

Whether it’s our Performance students playing to thousands at Glastonbury, our Music Business students curating a gig at The Great Escape, our Event Management students running a stage at 2000trees, our Live Sound and Tour Management students being responsible for front of house at Y Not Festival, or our Music Journalism students interviewing an act at Liverpool Sound City, these are incredible opportunities that are not only credible steps towards a successful career in the music industry, but also proud memories that will stay with our students for life.
