Verity Sessions
BIMM Institute Brighton
  • Singer/songwriter, born in London, raised in Hertfordshire in the tiny Hamlet of Nasty, (seriously). Verity Sessions has since found Brighton to be her chosen place of residence.

It was clear from a young age that Verity was always going to be involved with music, from when she would tie a belt to her dads Squash racket and pretend it was a guitar. Thankfully her parents invested in an actual guitar when she was 11, and that’s where the journey began.

After finishing her degree in Theatre & Performance, Verity started to write a vast amount of songs and was spotted by R2R Music (Independent Hertfordshire label) at an Open Mic Night.
Verity went on to record her debut album ‘Interval’ with them which was released in 2010.

Verity moved to Brighton in 2009, to be amongst the colourful music scene in-between the Downs and the sea. She has recently completed a Diploma in Songwriting at BIMM, and is currently working on her next E.P to be released this Autumn (2015).

Having recently been compared to the likes of London Grammar, Daughter and Florence and The Machine, Verity Sessions usually just states, “I sing, and play the guitar. I also have a stomp box these days. Oh and yes, it is my real name.” Heavily inspired by emotive folk and brooding melodies, Verity has been charming audiences with her unique vocals and distinct guitar for several years on the Brighton scene.

“She has us all doe-eyed as her vocals and guitar gently bleed. Superb.”
